OK seriously how do you draw a gun from this type of angle and not have it look flat or off

>imagine asking a ballerina how to perform a pirouette
>imagine asking a F1 driver how to drive a car fast
>imagine asking a fish salesman how to filet a fish
>imagine asking a violin player how to play the violin
>imagine asking a porn star how to fuck someone from behind
>imagine asking a truck driver how to drive from point A to point B
Next time you ask stupid fucking questions that either a) are extremely easy to figure out the answer to yourself or b) would require someone to type out a full page of info that will ultimately fly right past over your head, consider asking a similar question in any other field and if that question is fucking retarded odds are, your art question is just as retarded.
Fuck off and die.

>hi I'm writing to you because I saw you play the piano, and I wanted to ask how do you play fur Elise by beethoven? Thanks!
>hi! Here's how to play fur Elise; E – D# – E – D# – E – B – D – C – A – C – E – A – B – E – G# – B – C – E – E – D# – E – D# – E – B – D – C – A – C – E – A – B – E – C – B – A – B – C – D – E – G – F – E – D – F – E – D – C – E – D – C – B – E – D# – E – D# – E – B – D – C – A – C – E – A – B – E – G# – B – C – E – E – D# – E – D# – E – B – D – C – A – C – E – A – B – E – C – B – A.

add, even if just a little, a second plane to it, so for example in the image you posted, you want to draw a little of the underside of the receiver(it's easier since its square) and do a little round shading on the handguard

>> No.6518178

>>6515396
rendering, if you're using line art only, a box is always going to be just a flat square if you're not looking at it from an angle

>> No.6518195

It's going to look flat if you draw it head on like that without rendering or anything, that's just how it looks. Sometimes things don't look good even when drawn technically correct, this is why composition and design choices are important.

literally trace it
no one gives a shit for static objects and its a completely waste of your time if you're doing a comic and the guns shows up multiple times, retards will only flame you for tracing figures and only the most extreme autists will actually complain about gun tracing

Shading and the gun is may not held perfectly parallel to the camera , maybe its a bit to the front or the back. Depict that.
Also the trigger does seem to have a bit of perspective to it for example. The strap sitting on his hand with the watch ,the part where the piston connects to the barrel. Also the parts inside the gun like the indent thing on top of the magazine (along side the other ones like the one on the piston). the wooden U clamp thingy overlapping with the metal body.

TLDR: Add shading and perspective to the details of the gun, also the gun doesn't seem to be held PERFECTLY parallel
