culture and tech are 2 different things anon.
not bitching against smart phones, AI and shit, but lamenting the whole TikTok/Disney/Netflix non-stop stream of trash and what it's doing to us.
Far from having a second Renaissance we're having a new decline and fall of Rome complete with tranny degeneracy.
Besides new doesn't mean better e.i. use to be you'd buy a razor blade that did a better job and lasted a lifetime, and now the norm is to spend 200$/y on shitty blades that create waste on top of being worst on every level(except maybe safety for a first time user).

I'd have trouble shifting gears from work to draw and back.
Like with sleep. I do not take my phone to bed or have a tv going because thats bed. With drawing. the art room or desk you draw on should be for drawing. I do have some video games around me, and that can't be avoided to to the space I live in, but I have more art books and comics around me than games.

I sit there and look at them for about 30 mins or so. Soak in it until it moves me to draw. Like chick that imprints on its mother, maybe there is some primal part that is born and dies throught the day and when I sit to draw, I'm making that primal subconscious part of me say "Hey, I draw, I will draw now."

Finally, the gear has shifted, and my subconscious is now in line with my conscious.

time spent playing a game is not the same as drawing. Drawing is like jogging. Do you job 6 hours a day? Of course not, no human can do that. Vidya is passive and mindless, drawing takes energy.

I think if you draw an or two a day, you can play vidya for 4 hours after and it'll be fine
>why not draw for 4 hours a day
if you can mentally handle it, sure.

>> No.6500099

>>6500065
I work 10 hour shifts for my day job and immediately grind for 4 hrs until I reach my mental capacity for the day, and easily breach 6 hrs on my days off, so yes, you can draw for 6 hrs a day. In the past 25 days I’ve been doing this, I’ve had 2 days off due to unforeseen circumstances.

Also, I would wager the video games you play and how invested you are in acquiring proficiency dictate how much of a drain it will be on you. I fucking love video games and have so many I want to play, but don’t have the time or energy for them now anymore due to how mentally demanding they are. In fact, video games are far from a ‘passive and mindless’ hobby on account of the engagement and interactivity they demand from you, unlike watching TV or a movie… or even reading, since you can read and be sidetracked at the same time.

Huh, so you need to multitask to avoid multitasking in your head?
I don't think that's a solution, you're just outsourcing the habit.

But it's interesting that this sort of music was chosen
>The key to studying music is to choose music that has a consistent tempo and rhythm. The music should be calming, yet stimulating enough to keep you focused.
Because the genre I listen to the most when I need to focus (very rare) is minimal house/techno, which is very constant, electronic and mildly stimulating.
