I'll be honest, I think in terms of dynamism and structure, I prefer this one, style-wise too. I'm obsessed with the way you drew that smug mouth. But the amount of detail that goes into your newer stuff is great. It works better with the angular style too. If you go more moe like this older one, it would be hard to mesh with too realistic gear.

imo there are no shortcuts to drawing drappery
you basically have to understand how it works in order to draw convincing clothing
even though these are linear drawings i still think about folded drappery as planes and creases like in real life
i've heard thinking about it as paper really helps some people
Also the only thing i watched about it was vilppus drappery course so you might check that as well
after that it's just a bunch of studies and attempts to draw it from imagination
