I can only draw lineart if it's 1px thick akin to old pixiv oekaki. What's my diagnosis?

Same here. My brain is able to bring pictures from my head more clearly if the brush is either 1px binary or if the brush has a lot of antialiasing. I'm not sure what it is. Maybe autism.

why? thats dumb. i draw oekaki in all sorts of different px ranges--it's good to challenge yourself and see what kind of pieces you can make with different varying levels of thickness. try a 7px on 600x600 NOW!

You're both destined for digital animation. Going aliased and using smoothing (if you don't want the texture to show through) is common. It's why pixel art is so much easier to animate. If you both use these techniques and draw really fast with them, why not add a few frames?

Do you mean aliasing? anti-aliased implies that it's being smoothed out.
