How do you stay healthy and avoid carpal/ulnar nerve syndrome? How long should breaks be? Post your ways to stay /fit/ while drawing.

>Pay attention to your body and back off when you feel your wrist developing discomfort.

>only draw when you need to and preserve your health - no 10 hour days or crunch… moderation is key.

>Don’t deathgrip your pen, adjust sensitivity so that you don’t have to bear down to hit thicker lines.

>Don’t open jars or other shit like that without a rubber mat or jar opener to ease it. Hit around the edge of jar lid with a blunt instrument and then open it.

>take short breaks inbetween drawing sessions to browse ic or whatever

>if your wrist is busted, let it rest. No drawing until it feels okay again, and then follow the above rules next time

Mainly use common sense and take care of yourself. You aren’t a machine. Don’t listen to Gary vee. Exercise moderation and you’ll be ok.

Pullups fixed 90% of my back/wrist problems. I try to do at least 15 pullups a day now

Exercise really fixes most of this stuff. I used to get a sore back from sitting hunched over for more than an hour. Now I walk 7km a day with a good posture, lost 10kg of weight and all my pains are gone. Being sedentary is the problem.

Sleep for 6-8 hours
Work for 9 hours
Draw for 1-6 hours
Lift for 1-2 hours

Everyday.

My schedule is to wake up at 1:00am to draw and start chasing any unfortunate soul until the sunrise chase me away.
Bath, a couple hours of rest, eat, go to work, repeat

Mind and body are one, boys
If one is unhealthy, so is the rest
God, I feel so alive

no one can answer those questions for you, some people dig ditches for 30 years into old age and die strong, other people type on keyboards for 5 years as teenagers and need surgery to be able to move
you're not going to have any success vaxxing yourself against injuries other than just doing normal, regular exercise for your whole body

"For cardio, do 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity a week." If you have no time to lift weights, you should at least be doing cardio. And stop eating garbage.

I personally lift 5 times a week for like an hour and do morning cardio for 15~20 mins, 5 times a week. I draw muscular girls most of the time so being fit helps with making my own reference and most importantly, my health.

I'm assuming you fags don't care about gainz and just want basic injury prevention.
Buy a resistance band (but with light resistance since you guys are weak af) and do these exercises I'm about to list.
just google the names and watch some youtube tutorials to know how to do them properly.

>Shoulders, because you probably have shit posture
Band Facepulls, Band Pull-Aparts

>Elbows
Band Curls, Band Tricep Extensions

>Wrists
Band Wrist Curls, Band Reverse Curls

>Lower Back
Band Deadlifts, Band Good Mornings

Just do these exercises everyday before you draw.
1 sets for each exercise until failure (with good form) should be more than enough.
Should take 10 minutes max.

That's pretty much everything you need to prevent all the common artist injuries (Wrist, Elbow, Shoulders, Neck, Lower Back)

> Wake up after full 8 hours sleep
> Stretch and lift for 20-30 mins, nothing exhausting, just enough to "feel it"
> Eat breakfast with cat
> Send out any packages from online store sales by short walk to post office
> Come home, Draw
> Lunch, stretch, play with cat again
> Resume draw until sun starts to set
> Take walk while there's still some light
> Watch a movie or show in personal collection (future drawing ideas sometimes come from watching stuff)
> Keep drawing, but at a slower pace while watching
> Finish movie and drawing for the day, play about an hour of video games or jerk off
> Look over drawing one last time before getting ready for bed to see what might need work next day
All this to keep physically and mentally fit.

Always eat something with your pills, and please use a mortar and pestle (or if you're poor like me, a bowl and a rock/end of a knife) and crush your pills into a fine powder and mix it into a drink, the sweeter the better, a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down desu

Scientifically backed supplements are Fish oil and Vitamin D (which conveniently bonds to fish oil) but if you hate the taste of fish oil then I recommend Flax seed or they even make a omega 369 from a photosynthetic algae, its expensive though.

From personal experience, If you have wrist pain, the quickest fix is Lugol's iodine, you can literally just put a little on your wrist, (itll stain the area of skin yellow, dont worry though) and have relief.

In terms of having a refreshing sleep, I've had great luck with taking a gabapentin before bed. You can literally tell the difference when you wake up, I spring out of bed and don't feel any grogginess (this works best with a good sleep though i have had it even work with naps) Gabapentin is prescription only, so just say you have nerve pain from overworking.

In terms of detox, Cranberry fruit powder (Flowens™) improves lower urinary tract symptoms in men: a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study. I feel a huge difference from this.

Tumeric (do not take out of capsul as it fuckign stains everythign yellow)
Gingko biloba,
Hyaluronic acid,

certrizine + benadryl (take a VERY small dose, even half a pill of benadryl is potent! Benadryl blocks the effect of acetylcholine, a chemical in your brain that helps send messages between cells. Blocking acetylcholine can cause temporary drowsiness, confusion, and memory loss.

zinc deficiency can be tested by putting a zinc pill up your ass for about 20 seconds, you will feel a flush. remove pill after.

Creatine works wonders for sleep deprived thinking.

Thanks Mario. I'll vouch for the Vitamin D as I've started taking it recently and the usual grogginess I'm plagued with has receded, hoping it will go away completely in a month (I also eat sardines every week lol).

Gentle stretching for the wrists, neck and back throughout the day, you can find follow along videos easily on youtube that you can even do at your desk. Take walks to move your body and get some fresh air, it's good for your legs, your heart and your mood.

If you have any aches or pains, take a break and try to address it. If you ignore problems when they're still small all that's going to happen is it fucks you up worse long term and you have to rest much much longer to recover. Untreated carpal tunnel can cause permanent dysfunction but fortunately it's less common than tendonitis. Carpal tunnel involves your nerves so if you feel any kind of numbness it's important to see a doctor and to stop what you're doing.

Finally, you can reduce the chance of injury by keeping your hands and wrists warm while you work. You can play with a kneaded eraser, sip hot drinks or just wear something warm on the area. The important thing is just keeping the tendons in a more relaxed state.
