online, they're a lot more ruthless than even we are. Posting some shitty anime /beg/ art on a japanese image board will get people telling you to kill yourself. So people dont generally share their beg art or it gets buried and ignored more often, making it seem like their overall skill level is higher.

only western artists do that shit
nips just copy each other

The bug meme is kinda true. Each asian human is but a mere conduit for the greater gook hivemind' s accumulated creative knowledge

they trace. and there is no good japanese art. you are confusing traced manga with toner packs for actual talent.

successful mangaka practiced - just like everyone else. just a lot more and a lot longer that the average person here.
pretty much any japanese how-to draw manga book will immediately start off with how knowing the human figure is basically the most important step in getting good stylized drawings.
some people on here just like to delude themselves into thinking they lack some kind of magical "something" (substitute with talent, genes, whatever) because it's easier to stomach being bad that way, instead of admitting you have only put 1/100th of the time and effort into drawing compared to an absolute top mangaka...

IIRC they culturaly have a intuition that to learn art you have to copy other artists. They usualy copy manga they like.

Here in the west, there is a higher focus on self expression, "finding you style". Drawing from life is the general advice.

This.
Asian love drawing in general, art class being the only chilling class in our childhood contribute greatly for this love. The only hindrance is our parents who forbid us to draw.
There are other things which contribute to Asian talent in art:
Study calligraphy for 5-10 years, this help greatly in control pen and brush.
Math help with perspective.
My childhood are filled with "painting" shop where artist sell white sculptor or picture with only line art, we bought them and paint with acrylic."

Eastern countries are entirely process oriented and art is an inherently process oriented craft.
