i think overall your work is fairly competent depictions of people standing around in military gear.
Since you only want to work with graphite, your main concern, in my opinion, would be establishing a sort of visual hierarchy with the values. The way your drawings are now, many small unimportant details are extremely dark compared to the actual figure and especially his face, making basically a set of randomly scattered dark focus points in a mostly detail laden light gray image that make no sense.
As a second point, i'd reommend studying geometrical shapes. At the moment, your lines are sort of where they are supposed to be, but are a bit jumbled (as you probably tried to copy lines, and not forms) and difficult to read as 3D objects.
Something like the upper and lower lines of the belt in your image are best drawn as single coherent lines, with the loops drawn on top afterward. i think this exemplifies really well that you were concerned with copying the lines of each segment between the loops instead of understanding them as parts of the same thing.
