There is absolutely nothing wrong with drawing for fame or money. In fact, this has been the main motivation for many artists for centuries, and to deny it is to be wrong.

Not everyone wants drawing or art to be some 'spiritual' thing, nor does everyone agree that there is some sort of greater meaning to art. These arguments only exist to materially devalue the work we do and offer some sort of pointless and intangible 'spiritual' reward in its place.

Draw what you want, whether it is for spiritual reasons or material reward. Don't listen to those bitter faggots who want to impose some sort of rules upon your art or who question your reasons for doing it.

Do it for fame. Do it for money. Do it for yourself. It doesn't matter, so long as it gives you personal satisfaction.

As long as it's not coom, I respect any goal.

Anyone chasing fame/money through it is a whore.

You start your post with
>There is absolutely nothing wrong with drawing for fame or money
but you never write why that is.
>to deny it is to be wrong
You seem quite set in your beliefs and unwilling to change.
Doing art for a living is respectable. I agree with pretty much everything in your post. I'm sure there are some bitter faggots who want to turn everything art into a rule, but many posters don't want their favorite artist to turn into the same coomer slop that everyone else posts. This sentiment I think helps pust the 'art is spiritual' argument.

most artists are famous simply because their art survived while others burned due to muslim hordes.

I think I explained my position well enough, actually. To elaborate further, a lot of the reasoning that I see for why it would be wrong to draw for fame or money is some appeal to some greater creative spirit. That you have to create art for some intangible reason that is supposed to elevate you spiritually or some other new-age nonsense along those lines. It's an inherently politically-charged world view that tries to eradicate nonconformity towards what is perceived to be a 'greater meaning' for art.
The most hypocritical part is that the people who usually present these arguments romanticize renaissance artists and the like, completely unaware of the blunt commercial realities behind much of those works.
Or, for example, it's like when archeologists discovered that roman marbles were actually gaudily colorful and people tried to reject that reality because it destroyed a perceived notion of greater significance that Roman statues were supposed to hold (not to mention Roman sculpture was incredibly commercial in the first place.)
>many posters don't want their favorite artist to turn into the same coomer slop that everyone else posts. This sentiment I think helps pust the 'art is spiritual' argument.
People are going to be disappointed by the prevailing artistic trend and characterize it as soulless or as awful slop regardless of whether it is coomer art, or portraiture, or pinups, or landscapes. They should stop focusing on the content itself and more on the personality of the artist's work. Kim Jung Gi's more inherently pornographic drawings are just as fun and interesting as his more safe for work stuff, because it is his style which is interesting moreso than his content. If all you care about is surface-level content, AI art is here to satisfy you.

I'm doing it for fame but the only people I really want to impress are pretentious retards like myself. I don't care about mainstream appeal. But until I get that fame, the spiritual aspect is enough to get by and the bedrock of my passion for art. Fame would just be a nice byproduct so I don't have to work part time at a grocery store.

As if those were the only options.

Good artists tend to draw for the joy and fun of creating things. This is what people should be advised to aim for. If you pick drawing for a work you better enjoy the process.

If you instead are someone who find joy and fun for seeking out other people's praises and money then you do you. Just know your stuff will likely be the equivalent of junk food.
