Imma precede by saying this isn't a begging thread, I'm not gonna post my commission page in this place.
I don't wanna get rich painting and drawing, just want to see some constant earning even if it isn't much, in fact, I couldn't get rich because I'm too busy to open more comission slots.
I see artists that, not to say I'm good, but that definetely are less skilled in some techniques get constant comissions, charge way more than I would, and give results that to be perfectly honest, would make me feel very ashamed to do so, with no complaints from the buyers.
What could be done to improve get some shekels.

The hardest part is finding clients. Make a simple commission sheet. SIMPLE. None of that "$10 for sketch, $14 for GOOD sketch $18 for colored GOOD sketch" bullshit.

Lousy artists are getting commissions, but they did have to work to get those jobs. So just start offering commissions and don't worry about if you're good enough.

They know about business, and you don't.

It's not about skill or techniques anon, it's about demand, and appeal,

I'm 100% sure that Shadman would get more commissions than most god tier SFW artists, and the guy can't draw to save his life.

His art is in high demand, and it's appealing to degenerates, coomers and those SFW plebs aren't.

First, find your niche
>DnD
>furry
>MLP
>ff14
>BnHA, Harry Potter, FE OC community
>vtubers (hard mode)
>anime fotm or chink gacha fanart (hard mode)
>etc
And slowly shill on their discord channel, facebook groups, deviantart groups or whatever. Just make sure to have like at least 3 pieces of corresponding art before you post your sheet

If that’s your work, you should focus on learning fundamental drawing skills before concerning yourself with commissions.

Lol, no, I was trying to make something with energy rather than sense, I just wanted something eye catching.
So I made three scratches on my sketcbook and then build the legs and arm around them.
I was trying to portray "energy of movement".

Like, of course the tibia does not warp like that, I'm not a fucking idiot, it just was so boring when it looked right so decided not to.

Here's my sheet, again, prices and contact links covered cause I'm not e-begging here.

You are not anywhere near good enough to be doing commissions.
I mean, maybe you can do the occasional $5 sketch for kids on discord. But nothing serious.

sage cause samefag.
In general I know you're supposed to practice all, line of action, contruction, proportions, color theory, etc, and I'm doing it, but my drawings heavily lean more into line of action over construction and the rest.
I can confidently say, that the drawings I've been more satisfied with are less the ones that are correct and more the ones that feel like they have a lot of energy.

Anon, I know that's a fucking lie, that's why I came here to ask how to get commissions, not if I'm good enough to get some
Not because my artwork is so good, no.
But because I've seen people who draw like anon in pic related get some full pay comissions.
So shut the fuck up with the skill shit. Because I know for a fact, it's irrelevant to actually get comissions.

Step one is improve the quality of your art.
If you don’t want to believe me, that’s fine. You’re the one who came asking for advice, not me lmao.

Shadman is a very good artist, he had a very interesting, detailed grunge style.
The guy drew comics and very detailed backgrounds for his pinups, ran 2 sites and updated 4 times a week and he charged $400 per figure before he even got that popular and was still mostly drawing shock value joke comics, before he went all in with porn.

I filled my commission queue for the next 5 months in under a week off of a single journal post and had to turn away 10+ people. I'm under 1k followers on the journal account, and I have yet to do any NSFW work to date. I did not advertise on Twitter or any other social media platfrom. It took one year of effort to get to this point, here's how I did it:

>start by drawing and FINISH YOUR PICTURES
>share every step of your process freely. Invite people in to see your work and how it grows. Share timelapses/WIPs/Sketches/HR files/etc. and expect to get next to zero traction
>explore different ideas and prompt watchers for concepts to explore
>check your stats and see which concepts are more successful, modify art styles and check again. chase the good ones
>once you feel ready, START WRITING a PROFESSIONAL ToS. A paragraph blob that is poorly formatted won't cut it- put time into making a clean google doc or the like that shows you've considered a wide array of circumstances before you even start accepting money
>use commission forms via google docs or the like to filter out the SHITTY CONCEPTS THAT COME YOUR WAY. You will get bottom feeders looking to capitalize on your naivety. Draw what your audience wants to see based off your prior research
>prioritize commision work for those with larger social media followings AT FIRST.
>have clear and open communication so people know you're serious, and give clear pricing and deadlines of when they can expect their art to be complete.
>charge upfront
>DO NOT TREND HOP. People hate seeing this shit/it always ages poorly and watch you for the art you care about. If you want to do this, do it on an alt and give shoutouts to your main gallery/account if it gets traction
>you are a product just as much as your art is. Welcome to modern capitalism. If you have a unique personal quirk or angle, use it.

The more you think about what you have to do the more obvious it becomes. Put in the effort and you will be rewarded.

>> No.6291513

delusional OP you're not even close to good enough o charge for your fucking garbage art. and also falling back on the "it's much style" horseshit, isn't gonna cut it or make this trash any better. no one is going to pay you for this. actually get good and you won't have to try to find commissions cause they will find you.

yea idk how you expect this to be successful. Why would anyone pay you, the least you can offer is drawing a niche fetish for them but you even refuse to do that.
