Listen, it's not about the AI. Fuck the AI, it doesn't matter. Go cry elsewhere. I get it, it's the new thing and you haven't been on /ic/ very long and you don't know where shit has been or where its going.

Jannies here have absolutely driven this shithole into the ground. AI is just the latest link in the chain. Jannies have intentionally left shit threads up and running and have actively intervened to remove good threads over the years because they didn't like the subject matter. What you see here today is the result of that. It's all shitposting and hardly any actual Artwork/Critique.

Don't blame AI, and don't beg for jannies to remove the AI threads. You'd have to remove most of the threads running right now to get this board back to the quality it was. Good fucking luck.

one thing you realize when spend too much time on this site is that, while moderation within threads mostly isn't necessary, allowing off-topic, outrage bait and generals on a board is the same as condemning it to death. when it's just one general and the occasional spergfest it seems tolerable, but once the retards who frequent your board just for these types of threads become a critical fraction of your total user base, it completely displaces on-topic discussions.
It's clear that mods here are enabling this pattern - though I don't understand why, what's so disagreeable about having /ic/ actually be dedicated to artwork and critique?, and as long as that's the case this board will continue to be cancer.

If it wasn't AI it would just be asian jeans/aphantasia/agefagging/3d modeling/tracing/photobashing/etc etc etc etc. The truth is learning art is one of the most difficult things you can do and it attracts a lot overemotional insecure fags so any art education forum is bound to inevitably turn to shit.
