Its because these people on /ic/ have a super utilitarian view of art. They don't do art for the sake of it, they do art because they imagine that it can monetarily benifit themselves in the quickest easiest way possible. Which is why so much effort is devoted to figure drawing.

This. The ammount of times I've asked people for clarifications and more geometry-based discusssions of perspective thinking I could learn anything, only to realise they're as clueless as me is sad. There are still enough people who are high int or pro at rendering, figures, academic drawing etc. to get good crit in those regards, but there's no Scott of /ic/.
