I try searching for certain art (I won't say what it is) but it always only shows art from a certain artist (their art is below average) while it doesn't show other artists' work who are much better.

Value in paintings tends to be more ideal but there's little difference in how the dynamic range is compressed and rendered. Photos hide the number of manipulations done to make the image legible and values visible in the final print. Paintings tend to take the effect further and set values that don't or can't exist but otherwise the concerns are the same.

>>6197815
With practice, the process of maintaining one pointed attention and viewing thoughts and feelings with equanimity instead of chasing them or pushing them away and creating new thoughts and feelings becomes automated. Naked awareness without action or intention appears (from the viewpoint of the observer) to disentangle phenomena from responses to them, experientially and without intellectualization. So you end up recognizing the ever present and quite pleasant natural state that coexists with anxiety or irritation, disentangling conditioned responses from their causes in a process that eventually becomes automated and unconscious, and are able to break these habits and concentrate without distraction. You give monkey mind something to do that's productive and he does that instead of the usual routine.

There's a lot of overlap and CSP is dare I say, more intuitive. All you're really learning are the differences and unique features. One of the really long official tutorials along with the manuals makes most of it clear. I will say it's not as robust as PS but the features it has as much deeper and the tools more powerful for the most part.

I found an unfinished painting of his. Hopefully it gives you some insight into his process. It looks like he starts with an "underpainting" of black ink (on particle board?) and paints on top. Defining the major black areas rather than painting in a whole silhouette of black and going over again with light colors. It could also be achieved with oil paints, first blocking in the shadows, maintaining a hard edge on the outer boundaries of the character, later blending a soft edge on the inner edge with colors. As for the hue shifts, he probably uses a gradient of colors, something like burnt umber -> burnt sienna -> yellow ochre for the character's skin.

Most of the process isn't that linear, nor is there any special techniques at work. It's basically just the artist manipulating shapes of color intuitively, guided by their sense of design and aesthetics.

Work based on copyrighted/trademarked work is known as derivative work, and the holder of the copyright decides whether or not derivative work can be created. If your creation is related to Mickey Mouse, for example,, then Disney has legal right to prevent you from creating any work with that character as holders of the original copyright. The one exception is cases of fair use, such as parody.

What you can you legally do? You can create another character similar to the copyrighted work, but not identical to it. You can make allusions to your character's connection to the copyrighted work, but you can't mention them by name or have them explicitly appear in your work. Basically, don't get too specific, but drop enough hints for people to figure it out.

So I've been practicing for 1 year now drawing (traditionally). I've been drawing only with most common books like Loomis and other popular american artists. And about 3 months ago I went to Art teacher who is from Russian Academy. She helped me greatly with proportions and stuff.

But my end goal is to draw hentai digitally. I want to become hentai artist and earn bare minimum to leave my dead end soulless job.

Should I only draw in anime style or would you suggest to fully learn basics of traditional and then jump to anime digital when I feel I'm ready?

never stop yourself from drawing whatever you want. you're just saying no to free xp. judge it after you're done and determine what you need to do to keep working towards your goals.

drawing anime hentai boobies is a skill in and of its own. by learning traditional art, yes you're learning all the different parts of art, but you're not learning how they interact with each other in anime hentai tiddy bohooboloboobalos.

don't be scared to do what you want because it's what "really matters"
don't be more fragile with it because you care more about the outcome

try to do like 3 drawings of anime where you're just focussing on what you're doing, and not how it's going to turn out. then work from there as your baseline. it doesn't make you a shitty person or artist to draw a shitty drawing. it's what you do/feel after the shitty drawing that makes you a bad artist

Yes. The AI thing has just made me even more motivated to develop art that is distinct from what AI tends to produce, which is usually that soulless over-rendered ArtStation concept art style. I want to put passion, self-expression, and real intention that shows in my artwork, which is something a machine could never do.

How do you not get so caught up in studying and exercises?
I feel like I tried too hard to study multiple things in a short period and like I got lost in trying to reinvent my process. For example, one of the things was I wanted to better understand heads, so I looked at many different videos and guides on head construction. In the last few weeks many days I just attempted these methods and wasn't satisfied with the process, so I looked at more resources and repeated the same things. I don't feel like I actually made any learning progress and just feel more lost. I did this with multiple different subjects and feel like the last almost three months were just treading water without any results. How do I prevent this, should I go back to just drawing and only go back to trying to study when something doesn't look right? I noticed more progress and enjoyed it more when I was mostly trying to create finished pieces.

I hate to break it to you all but this shit is very very bad. Like most artists make steady income from graphic design and the more laborious concept art and animation grunt work. Traditional fine yes, will not be going any time soon but that is far and few between and only really top tier career artists make well with that.
It's already happening, in a soft way. Copy Writers are using story boards generated vai AI or algorithmic editing.

How do you get over or cope with the seething envy of seeing other people achieve your dreams?
The obvious answer is by achieving my own dreams yes, but how do you cope in the meanwhile? That gross feeling of envy will still linger while I work on achieving my goals... Though a part of my goals would also require me to study the people that have made it. But it physically hurts me to do that even though I know it shouldn't.

How do you get over that tug of envy on your heart strings?

Its the fact it portrays two very separate vibes in one image. There's a wrapping of warm tones in one zone and cold tones in another. The green floor with the red tile is a perfect transition between the two. The overall framing is fantastic and it carries a very particular mood. I've noticed a lot of experimental artists are using more red-blue-purples to add an almost surreal charm. It really is quite the lovely image that's easy on the eyes yet compelling enough to pull you in

The dolly zoom makes use of the effects of a changing field of view. As the FOV changes, the relationship between the sizes of objects at different distances changes.

Wide FOV (or wide angle lens) = objects rapidly decrease in size the farther away they are
Narrow FOV (or long lens) = objects farther from the viewer are more proportional to their actual size in relation to objects closer up

Chapter 10 of Framed Perspective explains this very well.

Lots of trad artists have their personal galleries or sometimes they'll pick a random corner in the city and sell their stuff, to this day I see lots of houses adorned with shitty oil paintings or even shittier copies of classic works.

Just accept your faults as they are and keep moving forward with whatever project you're working on. I legit probably learned more in 3 months working on a personal project than I did in months of grinding only allowing myself to have fun once in a while.

The grind until you're allowed to draw to have fun isn't for everyone learning wise. You may find yourself grinding a shitload of something only to sit down and feel pressure to be better than last time and it can fuck you up. Take some time just to chill and start working on something that inspires you. Eg if you love landscape painting just try and paint a landscape you like. If the foliage sucks who cares. Finish it and grind trees because you enjoy grinding trees.

Literally what? 2 hours should be enough, more weight, less reps.

As for your actual question try taking timed breaks, do art for an hour and force yourself to stop for 15 minutes or so to keep the "I want/need to draw" feeling strong, you can use this time to grab a snack to regain your energy.

>>6226762
Your goal is very based. Getting in with a community of loaded nerds who want that quantity of art assets is the first step.
For $3-4k/month you’ll probably need more than one stream of income, so consider selling tutorials or reusable art assets, just a couple ideas. I wouldn’t get too hung up on getting gud if people are already asking to pay you for your art, most non-artists don’t have the technical knowledge to get hung up on the same qualities that artists do.
