When I use it for drawing or anything else I basically only use the middle section for almost anything. You can see it clearly cuz its scratched af in the dead center and almost unused everywhere else. Is it normal? Its drawing area is 15.5cm x 9.5cm, so any real shoulder movements aren't really possible. Maybe its because when I try using the edge of the drawing area my hand is resting on the edge of the tablet and table or just the table so I can't do smooth movements.

red area barely sees any strokes, almost everything I draw is with the center.

I guess in Op case its not zooming problem, but moving canvas relying on middle of tablet, cause its comfortable for him, kinda same for me.

Op- you push your stilus to hard. How old is your tablet. Lower the pressure curve?!

I actually tried zooming in to fix this ""problem"", that is, zoom in such a way that a line I want to draw fills the whole screen. Was super uncomfortable and went back to drawing larger lines just super zoomed out (so a line being 1000 pixels long is still drawn with a short fast stroke in that small area of the tablet).

yeah, that too

I started drawing on it around 2 years, 6 months 11 days ago. Also the pressure settings feel like shit, I can never get them right. For the longest time I assumed it's a "me" problem, but I never had problems with precision in trad. Then I heard somewhere that lower end Wacom tablets have shit pressure sensitivity and that would explain a lot. Tablet still works perfectly fine aside for that, so I don't think that's a problem. I'm also planning on getting a newer one anyway. Either larger screenless or one with screen. Kinda related to the issue because I was thinking that with a screen tablet I would see where I'm actually drawing and that would solve this middle screen ""problem"".

My old-ass Wacom Bamboo has a mark just like that in the center, lol. You're not using the tablet wrong, you're just moving your canvas so that whatever you're drawing is in the center of the screen, which I do believe is a pretty common habit.
If that concerns you at all, here's a trick- get some paper, cut it to fit, and tape it down to your tablet (preferably with something that will keep a firm grip yet is easily removeable, like masking tape). You'll never have to worry about surface wear again. Feels nice to draw on too.

buy a tablet cover from foxbox if it bothers you that much (you can even put an anime girl on it!)

Yes, among other things.

It means you're drawing with your wrist in a similar motion too often. Draw with your shoulder more.

Normal as you will instinctively move your workspace to the center of the screen. Even if you trained yourself to take broader strokes the mqjority of them would still converge in the middle. Happens to me whether I use an Intuos or Cintiq.

I want to try this but I'm afraid it would wear down the tablet nibs faster. Is that a valid concern?
