Sorry for bad camera quality, but the Darkstalkers designs and sketches in the official art book are really solid. There's some pages where it also shows the rough drafts and how the concepts of characters were changed and developed overtime, you can find some good scan of them online. The character art is really dynamic and also has some subtle shapes and cool silhouettes.

I said that because I've posted his work in several threads like these before. It's always cool to see nice fantasy designs and such, but it's so much harder to find more grounded and comfy designs. I can list a lot of good character designers who do fantasy and cool monsters but cannot say the same for comfy and more realistic, of course I don't mean stylistically but ordinary people without any special powers who wear regular fashion. I don't know the exact number but I'm sure Nagano has done around 300 characters for the series as there's about 50 auxiliary characters in each game not including recurring characters.
