Depending on your age and what you grew up watching, that is literally the art style of 1980s - early 2000s western cartoons.

In comics and cartoons in the 1980s - early 2000s main characters got more detail because in comics and cartoons, detail costs fucking money and time. Side characters and love interests who are shallow and nothing characters didn't get detail.
