I think some of his 3D abstractions are overly complicated. They start to look like voxel models.
Some of the drawings are also very sloppy, particularly the wrapping lines along the forms look like he did them half heartedly and in a rush.

I'm finding it a better book to read than to copy the drawings which is very odd. He mentions some anatomy things that I haven't seen in other books.

In general his drawings aren't really appealing but they are usually believable. His hands are are a bit crap.

Definitely not the "Kim Jung Gi but in english" book I was hoping for.

Would anyone happen to have scans or pdfs of these 3 Art books of Solatorobo? Apparently these books are extremely rare, and at one time they were resold as pdfs, but I can't find anything for them.

Any veterans here that remember any mangaka illustration books uploaded or available in the DLs here? I'm talking stuff like pic related but that doesn't have any digital release so it's personal scans.
I'm openg to anything, but I'm new to collecting so I don't know many authors that have published artbooks and that have been scanned online

It's the other way around; if I find digital copies of books, I generally don't get rid of the physical copy if I already have it. The exception was Soejima's first book. I bought it on a whim based on some online reviews, but after going through it, I decided he really wasn't my style. I later sold the book after picking up a digital copy.

I stumbled upon this pdf when I was searching for anatomy applied to animation in Japanese, I read in English that western animators use anatomy in a different way than comic artists, and illustrators, so I figured it's the same way for anime and manga, and turns out I'm right.

Perfect book to learn how to draw medabots and such.

I got it. Totally worth the price. It's almost 400 pages. The first 200 pages is just technical information; covered in much more depth than How to render and Gurney's book. Then follows 3 tutorials of 40 pages each.
Amazing book. 3dtotal's been doing a great work with their recent books. The books from the early 2010s were trash, now they're making the best books out there.
