its retarded, old masters would have been making digital art alongside trad if they lived in our current day, and there are complex nuances to learning both trad and digital. some of you trad fags need to drop this superiority complex and embrace new ways of creating art.

HOLY SHIT INGRES PREDICTED DIGITAL
also no, not true. learning art traditionally vs digitally takes about the same amount of time. The only time it really deviates is learning the tools of the trade, such as the different types of paints or pencils for traditional, or how a software works on digital

you and everyone else who says this shit can't make appealing paintings even if your lifes depended on it, 2 completely different things retard

Old masters would be working at a Mcdonalds, doing something totally unrelated to art and commissioning furry art or browsing /ic/ trying to learn art without having the time and resources to do so.

composition is boring and everything color related is worse

the head looks like it was just photoshopped on. The pose is also really boring. This looks like a portrait that was commissioned by the king that would've just been a picture using the best camera quality in today's age. There's nothing creative about it, nor does it have a statement.

No, it is more like others back then who could not become artists in their time could be artists today. While old masters would not be supported to pursue art. Artists today are of very different temperament to most of the old masters.
And even if they would be seasonal trend-hopping, anime-watching, game-playing digital artists on twitter, how does that have anything to do with something taking more time to learn than another?
