Why You Should Copy Anime:
https://i.imgur.com/zNDsyF0.jpg
https://youtu.be/t_IODIIYAe0

**Strive for quantity AND quality.**

Anime Studying:
>Copy anime references exactly and draw them from memory. Use illustrations, screenshots, anime figures, 3D models, etc.
>Don’t copy recklessly. Use construction, color theory, and other fundamental concepts to rehearse a drawing process that you can later easily manipulate for original artwork.
>Post all of your anime studies. Post even when you’re told not to. Create an art community that actually draws and improves together instead of just talking about it.
>Number your attempts and link to your previous posts.
>Critiquers should lead by example by posting their studies.

General Anime Style Discussion:
>Questions about achieving certain styles/techniques/compositions etc.
>Drawing methods, study habits, resources, tutorials, tools, software, etc
>Be specific and try to post a sample of your study attempts before asking for help.

**Draw copies from good anime styled references to mindfully up our mileage, internalize appealing aesthetics, and learn from each other’s processes and knowledge.**

For a first attempt it isn't bad at all
But you should really work on your anatomy
The two characters from the top row are pretty wonky for example (their mouths, mainly)
The ones from the middle are alright. Very nice job on them
The guy on the bottom reminds me a bit of some rumiko takahashi's anime adaptations but the eye placement (his right eye) brings it down

The coloring isn't too bad on a technical level either... But I suppose you didn't want your colors to be this muddy (reminds me of early 2000s anime when they first started using digital coloring)
I advice reading color theory and not simply relying on multiply and layers. I can't help you much because I'm beginning too

>>5234448
Damn. This appeared as I was writing my post.
Now I understand why that dude looked so good. Were the other ones referenced?
It's not a bad way to learn -at all- but only copy references for your sketches until you manage to get down a style properly.
Otherwise you'll just spend hours polishing a "turd" that you didn't even imagine. Train smartly

Good luck anon

>> No.5234466

>>5234464
I see
Well, if they were all referenced then you still have a lot to learn. But for a first time, it's not bad.
Use your critical eye. We have a tendency to see our own drawings in a better light just like a mother loves her kids no matter what.
That's not to say you shouldn't tear down your work, but lf something looks "off" to you, don't ignore it. Try to solve the issue. Even if you fail, it will give you experience. Flip your canvas often too.

Good luck again

u hsould have taken my advice about the line colours :( mayb ei was too late
u can see on ur ref image the lower corners of his eyes are brighter and lines near face and such are darker so they aren't as obnoxiously bright as yours are
if you want to copy colouring, find something with a larger resolution and try to do it more precisely instead of going for grey zombie colours, which isnt an anime problem, its a problem with your general sense of colours probably

Absolutely, he did say the fastest way to improve your drawing skill and having a clear goal of how your art should look by having "role model" is definitely the fastest.
Too much people want their style to be "unique" but the reality is that method takes 10 times longer as you are going in no clear direction on how your art should look. This is also leads the dont compare your art with pros bullshit, if its bad its bad, open your eyes and learn from them.

I'd say if you keep it to yourself and you actually try and learn from the artist's design sense/form/rendering method/etc. that it's no big deal and a great way to improve or reach a desired style.

the lines are atrocious. you don't have to get rid of them completely but they greatly bring down the quality of the work with how scratchy, thick, and dark they are. the lines don't show any meaningful form, in fact, they kill the form because they don't conform with any cross contour. if you're looking at something and there's no edge, there shouldn't be a line. a lot of what you drew shouldn't be an edge with a line, use tone to show the difference.

i don't do smooth airbrush for everything and don't suggest you should either, but look at the difference in quality when you don't have shitty, scratchy lines all over. the face is flat and too much to fix with the eyes and her looking like they came from a deviant art tutorial and she looks like she has a unibrow.

Illustrator anon here, I think you are right about the colours and line quality, and my eyes could always use improving. My rendering is pretty low tier too.

I think you are mistaken with some of the lines removals though, the arm is pushed against the chest slightly so removing the inside shoulder lines brings the look way down, same with the breast lines. Making the chest softer is a good choice though.

Appreciate the thoughts

I have a question about anime hair and how japanese see hair.

Why can characters have any colored hair and it be referred to as that color, whether it be blue, green, purple, red, black etc. However yellow hair is called blonde金髪 and not yellow黄髪? I get that it's meant to mirror real life blonde haired people but red and orange hair is seperated, those characters aren't called red heads collectively and similarly brown haired characters aren't called brunettes.
Why is yellow hair the exception?
Also white hair is very often referred to as silver hair if the character isnt old instead of being called white hair.
Is there an connection with metals?

no actually not, everyone has different ways about constrcting the head, pass certain point you start relaying less and less in your constructions methods, construction is a good way to simplify things into easy things to understand visually, once you get that done theres no point in going further with it, if you are having problems to draw a circle and an a axis in the middle is not because you need to practice more of the same thing and rather your fundamentals to be able to draw things in a 3D space, thats why is a waste of time to be grinding these when all you need is the method, you got the method, move on and put the features of the face on it, if you are having problems with it because they come out deformed is not because of the method, loomis or whatever. Also you are supposed to mold these heads to fit your animu shit making useless drawing these things when in the end you have to make your own.

Use larger paper or draw smaller. You are squishing the subject into the bottom corner trying to fit it in after you already started too big.
Work on thumb nail drawings to get better at sizing up your canvas- or cheat and go digital.
Also try focusing on breaking things down into shapes before your try replicating the finer details like clothing.

Spread pussy enthusiast here, the girl has to be one seriously loose whore, or a mother to be actually be gapped open without parting herself with her hand or tape. Normal sitting or actions generally won't part the lips enough to see her insides. However wide cunts are what you're going for then have at it.

Neither of those faggots, but they're right. You would learn a lot more staying away from this shit thread. Get familiar with basic forms and know how to work with them from mechanics such as overlapping forms, C curves, S curves, T intersections, pinches and stretching and of course a general sense of "the whole" as in three dimensions. The innate ability to think in 3d comes from years of observational drawing from life and it doesn't come within a week of copying anime. For every one successful figure that looks competent there are hundreds of failed drawings behind it so get used to a lot of failures as long as you learn from them but you are not going to learn anything from here I can guarantee it.

>> No.5247796

>>5247698
They're definately lying since alot of men have weird aversion to actually looking into pussy and will avoid doing so if they have to. Also It's not that the getting wider but rather muscleare condtioned to be more laxed from frequent use, over the natrual course of and from childbirth( which actually has a disinict look to it), which is why they appear looser. Women can flexing the pussy can make it seem tigher, but if can see straigh into her canal from casually opening her legs then her bodycount is either high as housenuts or she's a mom.

wow let me stop you right there

you know like the ribcage and the pelvis and how there's a gap between them (the tummy), well, your aqua drawing doesn't quite have that.

Maybe go for the "dot" or "single stripe" nose as well instead of this one (it's looking pretty western my dude, a lot of westernness is ni the nose I like to think) maybe also ever so slightly shrink her eyes.

I don't like the way her butt/hips look, but don't change it.

I think your placement of where the neck attaches to her head is a little off.

Maybe that elbow bump on her left arm is also way way too much.

I don't like the enlarged breasts (but that's clearly done by choice so let'ys not fuss over it too much.

it seems like her ring and pinky finger should be placed lower on her right hand as well.

and then a question: do you have any fucking idea how aquas loop hair works? I don't really get it.
Never seen such a hair device so I'm not sure what they're getting at.

Anyway, the drawing's pretty good keep it up dood!

Governments even tried to make it a mental illness before scientists told them they were retarded and it's normal.

It makes sense too, once any species reaches puberty they would want to mate and have offspring, humans aren't any different. It's why teens are horny and nobody bats an eye.
We even did it most of our history before stricter laws came into place with age of consent, even then it's 16 in most places.
