First of all you should talk him out of using wojak memes. If he keeps doing that he will ngmi.
Memes in general are dumb but wojak is so stupid that it creates a black hole that sucks the soul out of you. I almost didn't reply to this thread because I don't want to even acknowledge wojaks in any way. Normally I just skip over posts that have a wojak or a frog in them without reading.

Let your friend know that their artistic creativity must be treated like a muscle.

Not using it enough can lead to atrophy.

Using it too much can lead to fatigue.

I myself feel the same about my art, and have backed out of several commissions because I want my customers to get their money's worth.

They will get better at their craft, they WILL. It just takes time to figure out a comfortable work schedule and style. But they will make it, Anon.
