that's what caused the backlash. Or, in general, the fact she was completely oblivious to her life advantages. Living in the expensive city where the industry is gentrified, being in a good family, having friends in the industry; these factors don't necessarly influence your ability to do good art, but it sure determines if you can get to work for an AAA game or not.

didn't say it isn't true, or that people on twitter aren't super sensible to any kind of vague critique. I remember when the creator of Inktober said the challenge should be done in pen/ink to encourage being more comfortable with trad art, and people lost their fucking shit. A furry insisted "I can't do trad art because of my mental illness", shit like that.
I once made a post that artists should look for inspo outside of copyrighted media, like historical artifacts, irl people or spaces, and people got pissy at me too. Mediocre artists always want to swim in comfortable mediocrity, yet want success served on a platter.
