Yes, that's all very useful, but what about a more indepth study of the type of person that breeds a successful artist from origin to end.
Like were you a work at home person where you could spend the time drawing.
How you felt around the market at the beginning and early artwork. Were you good at art as a child, talented, a free spirit person, your mentality to accomplish goals, from middle class or lower class upbringing that led to your tenacity/determination etc...
How when you knew you could do it fulltime and had hit milestone one after another type and when you knew you could go all in and leave your job/drop out of college (if you had one).
Like did your patron build upsteadily or did you create it in the midst of your success stage and had hundreds join at once or it built steadily and it's now hitting a plateau and what's the future plans. Slowing down now that you've made it? Personal factoids are interesting and I'm sure more people want to know if they are cut out for it as you are, to see if they fit the mould.

you just need mileage in drawing dude that's all. You can progress faster if you do a lot studies and practice the basics, but that can also hinder your creativity in a funny way. My advice is not to worry about it at all, but if you would like to progress make an alternate account and do daily drawing challenges where you post your exercises. This is me now (tracing guy). I don't trace. There's a difference between using a lot of reference (I do), but I don't straight up trace things. I also teach observational drawing at an art college. I'm not offended here, but I use the same methods that classical illustrators use-- I take my own reference photos unless I'm drawing a particular likeness. I also don't often show the hours of preliminary and guess work that precedes the drawings that I do post.

Not that guy, but here's a completely arbitrary set of things that helped me get out of a slump like that:
>switch mediums - I just used a pencil/ink like an idiot without branching out
>switch subjects - don't just draw faces or poses, try landscapes, or try switching from realism to anime/cartoons
>draw things you don't think you are able to do, get out of your comfort zone - feel like you don't have any idea what you're doing
>assume that you're fucking blind and can't spot any mistakes that you make (which is true, just look back at your earlier drawings that at the time you thought were good) and ask people for input, mirror your stuff, make a checklist of mistakes that you've made in the past (so you can check proportions, angles, perspective, color, etc. etc. and learn not to repeat the bad things)
>draw a lot from reference
>collect art that you like and try to learn from it, or just get an idea of what you could do next
>do that one contour drawing exercise, where you trace something you see very slowly without looking at the paper

"Just draw" is good until it isn't. You do have to have some direction to all that practice. Gotta push out of them comfort zones and make sure you're actually learning something new instead of just repeating the old.

It's like the 100 hands thread we just had here. If you just draw 100 hands you may or may not actually learn anything. But if you draw 20, figure out what needs to improve, then focus on that for the next 20 and repeat, you're basically guaranteed to improve. Really the trick in my experience just seems to be making sure you're thinking and doing things purposefully when you're drawing.

Also what this anon said. Switching mediums is an unexpectedly good one. I know a guy who sucked ass at digital. Went over to trad ink pens and took off like a rocket. Improved like crazy. Sometimes the tools can get you stuck or overly reliant on 'cheats'. ctrl-z and deform tools were his problem, then he learned line confidence and proportions when he had to stop relying on photoshop for a while.
