ive found some of the best weeby linework is linework that mimics ink pooling but still has very thin lines. japs tend to let light values do a lot of the work in defining the form softly

When you hold your pen/brush/whatever the fuck to the paper causing the ink to pool on the paper, resulting in a thick splotch. Basically it's when the the line has a significantly thicker end that rapidly tapers to something thinner, controlled by how quickly or slowly the line is drawn. See: the hatching here >>5117077, particularly around the nose.
It's an effect that actually can be replicated in digital.
