this is nice, your lines are very flowy and the line quality works well to define the forms. the far thigh looks real meaty, but the other thigh seems a little deflated by contrast. I'm not sure if her butt is quite so saggy either lolol. you handle the pencil really well, I think just learning a few more landmarks on the body would bring the drawing to another level

I'm red-sketch anon. He teaches well and he's helped me understand muscles and stuff. I just got through week 2 the upper torso, so I'm still just winging the lower half of the body though.

For flat out understanding gesture and forms, I used a combination of Proko's bean method, and Vilppu's strokes, the way he pulls and pushes on his pencil and really exaggerates his motions to get a feel for the flow of a figure.

When I'm drawing I am constantly scanning where my line is going in comparison to where the other stuff I put down is, compared to how it looks in the reference. This is difficult and it's a mental muscle that needs exercising. I'm still far from being considered really good, but I'm at the point where drawing is actually fun now since I like how a lot of what I do is coming out.

Checking angles is not literally measuring, it's just not getting lost in one corner of your picture and forgetting to check that the section you're drawing looks like it matches well with everything else.

I would say the issues with yours are the proportions, the head seems off to me, maybe a pinch bigger would do? its easy to fix with digital. I mean you dont have to to that but if you ever do, fix it before you post.

Her back is arching at an unnatural angle and her breasts are not following the form of the ribcage at all, not to mention that the shapes and sizes of the midsections are off
Your values are wonderful thougha nd so are your strokes and overall how you handle the pen
Just overlay your drawing on top of the original picture and you will see where you messed up

Yes, I know what you mean, I wanted to try to make a more direct drawing, so I started to put strong lines with a very basic sketch. I tend to have problems with proportions when I use an unrefined sketch as a base. This is disguised in the finish drawing, although in the foot you can see an error of proportions that I had to correct because it was too evident.


As for the back, I wanted to risk how it would look by exaggerating the hip area, especially the oblique, even though it is a woman. The problem is that because of this the line of the back does not follow the ribcage correctly, I had not realized at the time. The abdominal area I was thinking of correcting later, is what less time I spent and it is too noticeable.
