Eh, you can get away with not having a scanner these days. Even your phone's camera is good. If you're not wanting to invest too much, just pick up a $10 LED lamp off Amazon or whatever and use that to make your photos look better. Prop your drawing up against something, shine the LED light on it, and take a photo. You also have a great light source in case your ceiling light goes out and you realize you don't own a ladder.
