Who is the best artist of our current times?

Whether you base it off what you believe their "objective skill level" is compared to others (like people often call Nicolai Fechin "the best painter there was" for example)...
or their overall popularity based followers / "views count"...
or the money they've made...
or the "unique & original" way they draw and paint in... etc...

It's not limited to illustrators or painters. Any visual artists go, so mangaka/comic artists and such of course count as well, not only your little Twitter crush.

Art is as wide as any other field, most master only a fraction, making debating who is best a really hard position.
I will personally nominate Yoh Yoshinari, Not only does he touch on an incredibly wide array of fields, he is quite certainly the best, or one of the best in all of the ones he does, and he keeps pushing to be better and better at every moment.

This is actually pretty interesting to find out what "the best" is for each given person. You can learn interesting things that way, about yourself or about the art world.

Just gonna hijack this thread to post some rare Yoshi's, don't mind me. Also, he's mentioned that the manga "Nijitte Monogatari" as one of his main influences when it comes to drawing. Does anyone have an idea of how exactly he incorporates it into his work?
