Seems like crippling loneliness finally got to me. Is there any good art communities out there or are we alone in the void? I feel like hanging out with people would actually inspire me to draw more and not stagnate so hard. I really don't care anymore, I'd even join a discord group.

If you have any friends who draw, there is no reason not to make a facebook/instagram/twitter page to join them.
If you live in a city, there are probably figure drawing sessions or outdoor sketching groups that you can find

I have 0 friends that share a interest in art. I used to go to figure drawing classes once a week. They're for the most part filled with older women just the same as the models. Some crippled old men some times show up and sit silently in the back. I don't even mind, i liked going there even if it felt like a visit to the end of life care ward, but now everything is closed down so i really have no place to go except here.

I kinda had that same problem about life drawing sessions except that where I live there are at least a few other students going there.
Just know that /ic/ really is the last place you should go to if you wanna meet people because it is, after all, an anonymous board and the whole point is that you don't need to know who you're talking to. So try the dad discord. Even reddit would probably better for what you're looking for

There are days I crave something like a salon experience, with other artists to bounce ideas off of. People who get excited about the same things instead of their eyes glazing over.

But IRL artists communities I've been a part of have mostly been shitfests. Gossipy, dysfunctional, shelters for mediocrity.

I would rather have one or two good friends to share work and ideas with, and to mutually push each other to develop.

I joined a craft association in my area, but that's because I'm mostly a traditional artist. We spend a lot of time on our art and not on other people.

It's not loneliness. More like focus desu.

The only thing I would go to them for is pricing recommendations and life stories (they're older than me).
