I saw many talented anime artists, even japanese ones that have a huge following on Instagram sharing their art on Twitter and they barely got 10% of the followers/engagement. What is so different about the weeb art audience on Twitter compared to IG? I’ve recently got into /trad/ more and realized that I’ve got to create an instagram account and start from scratch there to get a decent amount of engagement.

Twitter has the kind of userbase that would rather see a bunch of generic anime girls to jack off over, instagram is mostly used by normies and normies are more impressed by traditional artwork than flat-looking plastic digishit

>> No.5035722

twitter anime artists already have an advantage because anime fans naturally form networks and communities, which twitter facilitates.

dont know bout insta and trad.

>> No.5035726

What kind of trad art? My guess is the thumbnail doesnt grab the eye of the average zoomer idiot scrolling through twitter, simple colorful anime styles are good for that detailed landscape paintings with moody colors not so much.

So I’m basically fucked with how the instagram algorithm screws everybody now.

For example these three:

>https://twitter.com/nonnonnosngk

And even Asia Ladowska doesn't have a good engagement there. Jgeorgedrawz and Mikeymegamega also don't share all their traditional drawings there.

Also these two have solid quality of art, but almost zero engagement:

But >>5035713 might definitely have a point, I've seen these having a solid followerbase, their art looks more vibrant compared to the slightly washed out watercolor/marker pieces from the rest I've mentioned:

Maybe is more dependent of the content rather than the form. Zoomers like whatever is popular, digital or not. Maybe those traditional drawings depicts unpopular characters.

these all are mediocre as hell to be honest anon
look up people like @ShingoTamagawa, @tarutaruiiigo, @siiteiebahiro, @EISAKUSAKU, @poch4n, @hanabushi_, etc.
if you want some decent trad artists

People using Instagram are not the same as those using Twitter.
Luxury, fine arts, and the such are all on instagram. I work in antiques and almost all antique dealers have instagram. Different culture. Traditional art is closer to fine arts so I suppose people who like arts in museums, antiques, luxury goods (fine jewelry) and so on, also enjoy traditional art in general and they don’t give a shit about fanart.
While on Twitter, if you want to survive, you better make coomer shit or fanarts.

Anon it is cringy and beg tier for artists to draw fan art. It's like screaming to everyone you dont have a original thought in your head but you want attention.

From OP's examples that's what I see, anime characters made in traditional style.

Your not being serious, right?

People that like/fav/comment on art usually don't care much about how it was made nor who made it. Some art piece made by an unknown asian guy may be more valorated that something made by a western empowered woman who doesn't need no man.

Like the OP image? You tradcucks are hilarious.

The art scene on Twitter is kinda weird. For instance there are guys with five digit follower counts who draw nothing but edgy grotesques with no attention to anatomy, perspective, line control, etc.

post on instagram, take photo with art supplies in frame to prove it was done trad. short progress vid doing random strokes of color and finishing touches (eye highlight, white splotches)--gold ink and glitter pens are appealing to girls.
follow video editing trends (snappy music/ punchy cuts)
