I see so many artists make grasses and flowers look so simple and perfect, but I don't know how to teach myself this sense of randomness when drawing nature scenes from imagination. Should I just draw a bunch of flowers from reference to get an idea first? Any videos or tips? Thanks anon.

Just draw from reference a lot. You don't necessarily have no memorize the anatomy of hundreds of different species of plant life, but if you build up a visual library of common plant parts you'll be able to BS it convincingly.
And of course, any gaps in your knowledge can be patched up with specific reference on a piece by piece basis and no one will be any the wiser.
