Wrong, supply doesn’t mean shit in art, it’s the demand. This isn’t a limited resource, supply was not a factor for centuries.
Artist =/= Artist
Fantasy art is less lucrative because the demand is lower, and it’s lower because unlike porn, it’s still industrialised and hasn’t taken to being crowd funded yet, meaning the best artists all fight for the limited demand (in the form of jobs with the companies that have the market by the balls), while the shittier artists are left to try and sort out themselves, which further leads the public opinion to view the fantasy industry as “good” and “pro”, and the indie scene as shitty amateurs, which grounded the transition to an open market to a halt, since people don’t have confidence in the less skilled talent and makes the industry more appealing. This results in a stagnant shitshow that bores even its core audience, since there’s no one to shake things up. Look at fantasy since tolkien and you’ll see like 3 times anything new was injected into it, and the state of affairs is even worse if you only consider the visual art aspect.
You can see a more rapid transition in video games, where a few outstanding indie devs started a snowball effect that is resulting in more devs being willing to strike on their own, and more of the market having confidence in those free devs.
Another issue with the fantasy market is rampant fanboyism on both sides, so people are largely just interested in buying more warhammer 40k novels no matter how objectively garbage they are than they are willing to buy a novel from someone who isn’t a celebrated author already, while the people getting into the production side of things also largely juts want to work for games workshop or wizards of the coast or whatever. Imagine if the entire vidya scene was just the nintendorks wanting to make metroid remakes, and there’s your fantasy segment.

To continue, the porn market is now in a similar condition because what content you can make is dictated by patreon, and not using patreon is financial suicide for the bulk of the supply.
No matter how many people get into porn, Shadman will be unaffected because 1) he’s shadman and 2) he told patreon to fuck off and built his own business model, letting him to whatever he wants, which is not something some retard off the street can do without a costly time investment, which is not something 99.999% of people are willing to do, which is the same situation as fantasy. It’s also why 3D all but erased the presence of 2D art in porn games, the investment is too costly for an uncertain reward, when you can just do what everyone else does and do the low investment approach and at worst just be another mediocrity and at best strike gold for minimal effort.
Furry porn is always the go to “easy money” scheme, but the reality is that the competition is the same as any other porn, the fetish is more specific, the intensity of the fetish and its involvement in your daily life is far higher, and 99% of the supply consists of bumbling retards charging $15 for a drawing, same as everywhere else. Amd Miles (the poster child for the 5000 bucks a drawing meme) does not compete with those retards. He was there first, just like shadman, just like sakimichan, he did his thing first, found his market and he will never be affected by the supposed competition besides making him stand out even more.

Actually a lot of artists just draw anime fanart and make six figures because they also know marketing and sell at anime conventions. It's very competitive going in though, especially with cons like AX where some of these artists make upwards of $10k to even $100k and over in extreme cases in a single weekend
