The retard misunderstood what drawing shadows means, it’s a sight size technique that means you draw shapes rather than the figure, so you look what a shadow shape looks like and draw that instead of drawing a head and eyes somewhere in the head (which is what you do with construction, except you construct the features instead of recreating their outline), pic related
The retard seemingly took that to mean to only put marks down where there’s shadow, at least as it seems from the eyes, since it’s literally the only place that’s different between the before/after examples he posted.
Basically, the guy is fucking retarded, and you shouldn’t take advice from someone who made no advancements in two years.

The first before and after is a big improvement!
So congrats! It flows much better, not so stiff anymore.
Don't give a shit about them saying shit like "the first was better, it's stylized" because if you don't have strong fundamentals you won't have anything to build on.
That is such bullshit advice, damn. Every big artist learnt proper anatomy, and to capture the object drawn accordingly to reality;
Before they turned to finding their own style and expressing themselves through the style.
Many people draw stylized cause they can't draw otherwise... Those people will sink to the bottom. If you want to rise, grind hard- though you'll never be able to catch up with those who started early.
So I recommend finding a good art school in your neighborhood and turning to a teacher- for good critique and stuff, you know. You'll learn best from a professional, preferably someone working on the field.
(Also, don't just draw lines but also draw in the shadows lightly, you'll navigate through the face and shapes much better. Don't just look at shadows and lights, but also learn what's under the skin so you understand what your drawing. Once you have that knowledge, it will get much easier to draw.)
