What is /ALT/?
If you're looking for a place to post your cartooning then you've found the right general. This is /ic/s 1st and only merged hub where both Eastern and Western stylization can coexist peacefully, hence the double title. However, by community demand and long history, this is favorably an Anime general.

I think you should have focused less time on just her lower half and more towards the overall piece. Her upper body and face come across as extremely flat in comparison, and the inconsistent lighting undermines the effort you put in.

Take time to do some render studies from photos, or seek out a live model class somewhere in your area.

Your fundamentals show improvement. Return to learning the fundamentals of light and shadow, followed by thirty second and two minute gesture studies. Once you start knocking those out, start doing longer portrait and fullbody studies.

Another alternative is to pick up Erik Olson's course on perspective and go down Aguri's one year fundamentals guide.

I think your issue is that you're drawing sex. I'm not even sure what the fuck your problem is, because I'm not seeing how this is even my fault. I used the Posemaniacs Handviewer. In addition to the head it has a few hand poses. Unfortunately idk what will happen to the site when December hits, since it runs on Adobe Flash.
Alternatively I also occasionally use a tool someone published on Artstation which is pretty handy since you can control the lighting direction @ artstation.com/artwork/GX3Ax1

It’s more obvious in your other stuff, so I’ll use that as an example. (Left sides are the modified ones) I think honestly they’re small fixes that would make the faces look a lot better. Flipping your canvas more might help, but I think if you just try to be aware of your jaw placement more you can avoid repeating your habit. It’s honestly the thing that stands out the most to me as looking off, otherwise I think your work is fine. Sorry if that’s not a super good explanation, though I feel like if you look at the comparison then it’s easy to see the issue.

Can sketchiness be part of an art style or no? I feel like when I slow down and try to make slow line art it fucks my rythm and the drawing loses its "soul." Of course, straight up not finishing parts of the draw like the feet is just flat out lazy, but if my main goal is to make my own comics and I need to produce quick drawings, can I justify it?

Eastern style defaults to either not drawing the lips or making them very subtle. Depending on your anime mileage mixed east/west artstyle can start to look wrong to you simply because it adds detail to the face.

It is not necessarily a bad thing, depends on what he is going for.

Experiment with line thickness. Use thicker lines on figure outlines maybe?
