How do the people around you feel about you doing art?

For example my father thinks art is gay and real men should be outside doing backbreaking work.
My mom is supportive and sometimes buys me art supplies without me asking even tho she doesn't really get why I have to draw naked models as box people.

then when you do they all switch, some people are happy and pretend like they didn't tell you to get a real job, and others are bitter to see someone succeed at their dream and will get a kick out of throwing sticks in your wheels

No one around me cares. I mention to friends that I draw and their eyes glaze over, no one asks about it, ever. Parents mostly leave me alone and are just happy I do something other than playing games.
