Stop comparing your art to other artists for a hot minute and start comparing your art to your past art. Feel pride in your hard work and personal improvement. Human faces are very hard to learn to draw and take lots of time and practice. You're already learning how to shade and play with light and shadow and how to use basic shapes to create more complicated ones. You're doing really good, keep up the good work and don't be so hard on yourself.

Learning how to draw is a lot like life. Some people have it harder than others, but that doesn't mean you just give up. Art is not a subject in which you get better at 'faster'. Do you really want to get good within one year? Then go onto warosu.org and download the FZD school notes. FZD requires that you own a tablet (intuos m pro btw), do all the homework and exercises that Iris has recorded and learn photoshop. You'll notice that they skip a lot of the fundamentals like posing and gesture because you won't have the time to get good at them.

If you grind for one year on art for 16 hours a day and also learn 3D through sketchup and also photobash etc and follow the FZD curriculum you will get good.
