This is /ic/s 1st and only merged hub where both Eastern and Western stylization can coexist peacefully, hence the double title. However, by community demand and long history, this is favorably an Anime general.

There are several levels to the story. He started off on /ic/ as a porn artist. He did the same stuff he does now, posting tons and tons of wips for every piece he did, as well as using the trip Hardstones McFlintcock !!HyUHIeKB6fW. He rejected any criticism he got, even when given full redlines and paintovers, which gave him a bad reputation. Eventually he gave up on porn and made /alt/ his home, and started policing people on what they could post, namely sexual imagery. He drove a few threads off the rails with telling people to move their mildly lewd drawings to the porn threads (hence the "woof woof" meme). He continued to reject advice in /alt/, and would often blogpost about deleting all his accounts and leaving (which he never did).
Basically he's just a guy who can't take crit and is generally annoying.

Greatly depends on what you're trying to do. If you're trying to do realistically proportioned people, like for example anime, an understanding of anatomy etc. will help a lot. But it's not like you need to be some master of reproducing reality before you can draw a silly little cartoon. People who think that way only end up frustrating themselves.

Yuasa's stuff is kind of deceptively primitive/naive. But he also directed Kick Heart, and you can't doubt he knows his stuff after seeing that. Who can say how much he really knows? I'd guess quite a lot in his own way, but almost no really creative artist that I know of cares to depict reality "realistically" unless they're being forced to (art school).

From what I've seen of Go Nagai, I'd guess he's not particularly a master of realism. Never felt like he was a beast of a draftsman, I feel he's more for his style and ideas. That doesn't mean he didn't work hard however and any artist who's serious should do the same. What that means is different for everybody though.

Yeah that is something I notice as well. There is a lot of spergs especially ones that get mad or angry when an artist does not draw the way they want them to even though it's in their own preference or style. Especially last thread with the whole circumsion artist. Also Shitposting does tend to be annoying to the point where people do not stay long here and then the posters who want to see the work whine about there not being anyone posting their art. Stop for now and don't look at it again for a day so you can see the mistake more clearly, remember the eye is inside a socket and doesn't nudge outside of the skull. Instead of drawing a bold dark line for the eyelash show the curve of the corner of the temple and draw the eye inside of it while foreshortening the ellipse.

I’m not planning on redrawing this, but looming question for some construction genius

How do you draw 1 hand in 3 mouths? I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to physically do, but for academic purposes what strategy would work best?

I tried drawing 3 heads then inserting the hand, then drawing the hand and constructing mouths around it, then heads around the mouths, but to no avail. Eventually i whittled it away one head, mouth, finger, at a time.

I think top down would have been an easier perspective. This sketch was too hard...

Sorry about that. About the chair, I'm going to be honest with you, I only cared about drawing the girl. Everything else is just "there" to me and didn't care at all, which is something I definitely need to work on in the future. I often get too lazy or impatient and it shows in the lines as well, not only in the chair.

Yes, the symbolism is quite important to the illustrations, these are all heavily based on the Rider-Waite Tarot which has a considerable amount of intentional symbolism in each card. My main focus is "updating" and improving the illustrations (mostly fixing anatomical and compositional fumbles) while retaining the symbolism and adding a bit of my own flavor.

Obviously they're all in grayscale while the actual cards are full color (Color is used a great deal for symbolism) but hopefully I'll have the time/funds to colorize and print the deck in the future.
