you either need to draw bigger or use a thinner pen, the thickness of your lines is not doing your drawings any favours, it looks like you're trying to add details but the pen isn't allowing it to look good

You have a really appealing lineart, it looks messy in the thumbails but it's actually really fucking clean once you look at it.
What I think is also pretty neat is how you never seem to fuck up a sketch, maybe because it's something I struggle with.

Scanner phone apps?

I was thinking about getting one of those standing scanners so I can do my A3 stuff too, but they run 200-300 bucks and I'm not sure if it's worth. I will be getting a tablet but I plan on sticking with trad media too.

Notebloc works fine.
If you really want to buy a scanner do it, but 200 bucks is a lot. Just get good at taking good photos, maybe buy a lamp and learn a bit of colorcorrection on photoshop and you'll probably never need a real scanner.
