My take, change jaw shape, increase iris size, eyelashes, remove some of the downsweep on the inner brow that (combined with lines under the eye) read as kind of "worried" at first glance.

Removed lines under the eye as well.

Sharpened the canines, something about the blunter ones was reading as "hobo teeth" to me, I don't know why.

I cleared the "5 o clock shadow" shape on the muzzle early on but it could probably be in the final colored version, so long as it wasn't a dark grey or anything that looks like a 5'o'clock shadow.

Yeah I agree, it lacks direction, who walks like that even in an exaggerated sense? What is it looking at? Just some things to consider. Something I thought was interesting was early in one of the Michael Hampton courses he’s talking about gesture and the power of “about to”. Basically you should be thinking about where your figure is about to be and why as part of your early gesture process. It’s not a rule but it’s a good idea for creating dynamism.

The character itself isn’t bad though, the pose just looks like a very cookie cutter simple way of drawing the body. I’m not a teacher at all by the way, but that’s what I’d personally try to improve on

a lot of what makes an art piece cool and appealing is the mystique behind who drew it, what it tells you about them as a person, their interests etc.

first you need the base skills, but after that, you can tell when something is drawn by a sperg with no personality or a cool motherfucker. if you're a boring dweeb with no other interests, it WILL show through that you're pulling from nothing that you're honestly interested in. and if all that you're interested in is nerdy shit, wit nothing cool to balance it out, you're kinda doomed.
