A plate from Spanish comic artist Esteban Maroto. He worked on a log of "magazine format" comics - large sized, long issues with adult themes. Here in the USA he did work on "Savage Sword of Conan" which is kind of a who's who of badass inkers.

Here's a double panel from Hal Foster, original of originals.

His detail was insane. He drew on paper MUCH larger than comic artists use today (somewhere around 3 feet tall), so this panel would be like two regular sized pieces of paper side by side when it was drawn.
