How do you deal with eye fatigue?

Is using an eye patch and changing the side every 30 minutes of digital work helpful in any way?

yeah, you should do that. Do it in public too.

Are you staring at a screen?
If so, turn down your brightness. Most displays default to way too fucking bright. If you don't have a colorimeter, you can use a phone app like Lux Meter (or anything that can give you a luminance reading) and get your monitor down between 120cd/m^2 to 140cd/m^2.It might look too dark at first, but give your eyes some time to adjust and you won't regret it.

Otherwise I use Flux when I'm sketching or inking. Have to take it out when dealing with colors for obvious reasons.

it's honestly never been a problem for me

Walk around outside for a minute and look as far off into the distance as you can. No, this isn't a "You just need to unplug! Get some fresh air!"; when you stare at something directly in front of your face, your eyes cross a bit to focus on it, and if you do this for too long your eyes will get sore. The solution is to look at something far away for a while, which will cause your pupils to diverge, and give the muscles responsible for crossing your eyes a rest.
Alternatively, you can just power through the discomfort, because it doesn't actually cause any lasting damage.

Maybe you have visual tracking disorder? I have glasses to help with eye strain, no sight problems otherwise

>> No.4873863

- Check if your glasses need adjustment;
- Decrease screen brightness;
- Sleep well;

For instant relief get pick related or a all natural eye wash made from the boiled herb eye bright.
Blink more often and actively remind yourself to blink. The eyes blink less when we focus. If you are using a screen, put it on the lowest brightness setting you can stand. If you are ok spending money, they now sell blue light filter glasses that don't fuck with the color but stop the radiation/light from the screen and sun from damaging your eyes. Very cheap too. Weird advice if all that fails but cut gluten out of your diet for a week. If you notice your eyes are more moist, congrats to have hashimoto's disorder like I do and your body shows the bleached white flour intolerance through drying and irritating your fucking eyes.

I'm using a timer. Every 15 minutes I turn my eyes away from monitor per one minute then I set the timer again.

>> No.4874956

I bought some blue light glasses. I used yellow tinted sunglasses before.

>> No.4874987

OP here, I lowered brightness from 45 to 5, I was already using night light before too, will start taking breaks more often too. Just the brightness alone helped a bit. Thanks for all the recommendations.
