How long does one need to learn anatomy?
There's people out there that been studying anatomy for decades and nothing but anatomy and there's others who've dedicated to only a years worth? do I need a decade in studying anatomy before moving to another fundies?

study structure and proportion first, then anatomy. You could probably learn all the anatomy you need in around 3-4 months. once you get the basic forms down, what each muscle group pulls and where they're generally inserted you're good to go. focus most of your time on figures learning correct construction and gesture, and you'll be good

yep, but just remember your ngmi unless you spend two decades drawing 2500 boxes, 25000 cylinders and 250000 foreshortened ellipses before even thinking about going onto anatomy. bonus gmi points: draw a dot where you are right now and drive to the other side of the country and draw another dot. now draw a straight line to connect them. this will build line confidence. 25 times a day. remember to draw from your shoulder.

build up your knowledge and confidence by studying body parts you don't quite understand how to draw.
don't just study anatomy for years just to go to another fundie, build everything up at once. if something is lacking more than the others, study that fundie for a bit until you get more knowledge

Were you under the impression that an artist is ever supposed to stop learning?

When I get to Sakimichan's level there will be nothing more to learn

In art school, the first year figure drawing course was based around learning the skeleton and the second year figure drawing course was focussed on the muscles. We weren't studying them for the whole time, though. I'd say you could figure it all out in about 6 months of dedicated study to understand all the superficial anatomy that an artist would need to know.
>do I need a decade in studying anatomy before moving to another fundies?
You should be studying most of the fundamentals in tandem with one another. The fundies don't do anything in isolation, they all work off of each other.

The basics shouldn’t take you too long, but you will constantly be learning new things and relearning them throughout your life. It really never ends.
