drawing for like 4 years now
>cant draw a head to save my life, not even the loomis ones

>linework is total ass
>cant draw proper curves
>my drawings are stiff and have no charm
>cant measure proportions correctly, not even on cartoony characters
>still dont know how to connect the legs to the hips

fuck, to be honest I feel so assblasted right now, most artist I look up to are so good at what they do, and I cant draw for shit and has been almost 5 years, the only thing I have to say to my defense is I draw almost nothing, I dont think I have drawn 100 heads by now, even counting my commissions, im so tired bros, I just want to lay and cry like a little shit, I think im just too retarded for this and too poor to let go the commissions, im trapped on a mortal coil into being a low end coom artist for the rest of my life.

You have an inherent lack of discipline and i'd wager you have a short attention span as well, and i doubt Art is the only aspect of your life it affected badly.
Learn Self Discipline and You'll learn to draw.
Download all the material you need, then turn off your internet, keep your phone away from you, and study what you downloaded for at the very least 1 and a half hours at least 5 times a week, this bare minimum if you want to see actual progress.
You could do this, or you could keep crying and making pointless threads like this one.

So you recognize your weaknesses, but you're not solving them?
There are countless anatomy books out there. Get 1 and focus on that. You should be using the 80:20 rule, meaning 20% of time should be spent inputting information like reading, or watching informative videos. 80% of your time should be spent on output, actually drawing and applying what you learned from that 20.

If you dont know how to render basic forms and you're 4 years into this and taking it seriously, your method of practice is the absolute worst. I dont even think you're trying to get better. You probably just keep doing the same things over and over again. That's the opposite of improving. If this sounds like you, dont let me ever hear you blame your lack of improvement on talent. It doesnt even take a week to understand the basics of how light interacts with a sphere, a cube, or a cone. Again, countless books out there. It's clear you're falling short in how you're approaching learning. Copying does not benefit you, construct instead. Look up videos on youtube or the web on how to study better. It applies to drawing and painting too

Art is just as skill focused as programming, so a degree hardly matters if I'm shit at what I do and haven't practiced for the 10k hours.
