He's good. Haven't tried NMA but his og course. What I have to say is that the rythm is atrocius. Randomly speeding up without explaining, drawing lots of lines without explaining what's going on, never showing the ref, always being in front of the drawing/ref so you can't see shit, etc. Oh and the sound, jesus christ.

The reality is it doesn't matter that much who you learn from, and you'd be better off drawing from life and photographs and only consulting teachers when you have burning questions. But if you hate drawing and thinking on your own, and you'll blame your teacher, because he can't think for you.

This is very true, completely agree. I even feel I'm stuck grinding Vilppu as an excuse to avoid doing more difficult things.

I think that people who start from zero should get some knowledge first, otherwise they won't know how to choose what they want to do. Be it from a book, course, teacher, whatever.

Once you got some basic knowledge, then you should be project oriented.

I used to feel the same way about Vilppu. But then i came on ic and saw everyone recommending Vilppu. I decided to give him a second chance a plough through the exercises and holy moly were they right. Vilppu is the best drawing teacher, period.
