For real tho, if you want progress you need to draw 1-2h every day.

Assuming you practiced an hour a day, it would take 27.4 years to reach 10,000 hours. Practicing 2 hours a day would get you to 13.6 years, and practicing for 3 hours would take 9.1 years

a smart person with the right teacher could learn in to draw in 6 months, weekly teaching, daily practice. 2 hours a day everyday, no braindead auto pilot drawing but drawing with your brain actively thinking on why you're doing what you're doing

Taking classes also poses a problem, I think, and that is getting praise for the wrong reason. Criticism always comes from another person, and that critism can come with it’s own set of personal biases and preferences.

It takes 10000 hours to be a master that knows all there is to know, not to become decent or even good.
It takes like 50 hours to become decent and 100 to become good. The 10000 hour number was never about how long it takes to learn something, just how long it takes to become and internationally recognized master.

Not OP but I feel like I always have a mental block when analyzing a piece, like I can't seem to grasp how they did it conceptually, and their process.

There's no such thing as a master who knows everything in art, there isn't enough time in 3 lifetimes to become a master at all the basic elements of artmaking

the more time you put in, the less time it'll take. keep at it OP, your future self will thank you.
I started getting into art in 2008, after 3 years I improved a lot, but then I stopped in 2011, and have only recently gotten back into it again. If I had put the past 9 years into art, I would be very successful right now, but I am instead playing catchup. Don't be like me, just keep at it!

if you can't draw like the GI within a couple of months, then you didn't draw enough
