I thought I wanted art friends but then I realized that Im usually better on my own and I can practice at my own pace and without distractions. After the initial talk there isn't much to go talk. Also doesn't help Im not a neet and have a day job and dont use discord at all. If anything it would be nice to have a better artist to get critique from but that would be more of a favor than friendship and I wouldn't like that on either end.

i think most people just want to find others to share their experience with. find something cool, link me, something clicks, explain the theory. instead of only viewing yourself you can see the change in those traveling a similar path. speaking without an idea or experience behind is most often empty. as long as you are considerate of the limited time of others there is nothing wrong with finding a calm place to dwell.

I’m a long time lurker that finally decided that it’s time to draw now; I’m like a couple days in. Clearly beg/ level; I just like drawing anything, not really exclusive to anime/cartoons but I generally enjoy it more, I know I’m awful but I’m here to just learn and have fun with the journey itself. Art goals? Probably try to get into environmental concept art since my day job is gone for good, so I might go to school for that. But aside from that just focusing on drawing as much as possible, make it a daily habit before making any major commitments or setting any real expectations y’know?

I don’t watch anime; I did back when it was… better? I’m more of a manga person nowadays. I like horror, fighting games and character design, I’m not much of a gamer nowadays but I do watch streams time to time since I don’t really want gaming to get in the way of drawing. I’m pretty interested in stories and have interests in drawing short comics in the future.

My favourite artists are Hideo Minaba, Tite Kubo, Seth McGhee & Daisuke Ishiwatari.

Not really interested in discord servers, but may probably join DAD once I get a solid streak going on, for now I’d like an online friend to vibe with.

Add me or not; it’s whatever. If we got some sort of chemistry going on great, if not ghost me it’s fine. Later on, Voice chat is pref since y’know it’s better to be drawing/doing work while talking instead of spending all ur time typing.
