IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the /draw/thread with our fundamental exercises.

Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make YOURSELF feel proud.

READ THE STICKY if you're new or need guidance.

Sticky: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uwaXKU7ev6Tw_or__o8ARpUb6r2rCZYJGqwSFV9AD98/edit#bookmark=id.15jx3pyuimvj

RESIZE YOUR IMAGES - try ~1000px, <1.1mb

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

Is gesture a meme? When I paste the gesture drawings from Hampton's youtube videos onto their references they're not very accurate.

>> No.4740373

>>4740359
Gestures aren't supposed to be accurate, specially in early stages. Which is why yes, it is a meme to certain degree, the fact that many advocates attach pseudoscientific and spiritual explanations make shit worse

Guys like Huston, Bill Perkins, O'Reilly, actually take structure and accuracy into consideration, you might like their use of "gesture" better

Just look at his anathomy sheet >>4740245 Look how tilted "straight frontal" pose looks. It's a recurring mistake you can see in all of his youtube videos. And it's really common /beg/ mistake, if he had any sort of basic art education he would be aware of it (which he obviosly isn't).

I love the cleanness and the faces are very well done, pretty gud, i gib it a 8/10.

Whenever I draw from ref, my figures get stiffened in the process. Occasionally I would do a small fix by getting rid of my reference picture, then trying to exaggerate the gestures to create more flow. I review the notes by Michael Mattesi's 'Dynamic Force' books along the way.
(but take my advice with a grain of salt because my work isn't good as yours- its just an ideas guy tier shit.)

the determinants of chicken scratching is that it wastes your time. using less lines is better in the long-run so you can draw more (and study things like anatomy etc.).

Its a hard habit to get out of, you can use small steps to get out of them- even if it's just a little less, it's 10000% times better than the older you who spent 12 hours for 1 figure sketch compared to the "new you" who's able to draw 20 sketches within an hour.

never fall for the 'muh style' trap.

Do you live with your mom? Is she looking over your shoulder?
Anyway, I think the main two problems with the tits you drew is that one, they're spaced too far apart, and two, they don't follow gravity. They can sag out to the sides if the girl is lying on her back, but they'll still be sagging out from the sternum. And the girl in >>4741786 isn't leaning back, but to the side and maybe slightly forward.
Also, the sag makes her look old and ugly. There's nothing wrong with drawing old and ugly things, but you should be sure of your intent. If you're trying to draw a young and pretty girl, then saggy tits are a problem.
