You don't necessarily HAVE to study the fundamentals. But doing so will give you a lot more mental options that you wouldn't have considered before.
Your figures and work doesn't have to be spot on realistic and accurate (thats just /ic trolls regurgitating memes) to look good. But having some knowledge can greatly improve the visual appeal.
The problem for me is motivation sadly..I burn out so fast I hardly ever finish anything.

Well she does more than two drawings per month though.
Just checked her patreon, a "term" is at least 6 to 7 drawings, including 90min voice overs, sfw and nsfw versions and she manages discord stuff and critiques apparently.
Just recording, editing and doing voice over is a time sink in itself.
For her prices, I think she provides value to anyone interested enough in her stuff.
Many people think patreon is the easy / lazy road but the moment you try to create content for your patrons like videos, you understand that the grind is real and it's a fulltime job.

She makes a years salary in a month. And has been doing so for some time.
I'm not sure how many of you work in a "real job" as an artist, but it's not the land of milk and honey and freedom. You don't usually get to do your own stuff anyway, so you get paid her monthly salary in a year, and you're still doing what others want you to draw/paint/model/animate.

She can fucking retire in a few years and enjoy the rest of her long life (she's young right?). If she's smart with her money and has been investing a lot of it, she's already probably set. She's earned two careers worth of income by now.

Then she can paint/draw whatever the fuck she wants (like "real" artwork LOL).
Or just chill and tour the world enjoying life.

The book is written in Java, however Processing makes things easier, so most of the C++ knowledge transfers directly to this, and I rarely have to look up stuff.
I'm currently on chapter 6, working with autonomous agents, but I somehow feel like I'm wasting my time. Midway through the book I realized that Processing is a Creative Coding environment, so the book doesn't cover a lot of advanced stuff; it just teaches you how to make pretty pictures with code. I'll definitely finish the book since I'm already over half way done with it, but I really feel like I should be learning "industry" type stuff. What should I learn that would give me a high change of getting a job without a computer science degree?
