Is this good animation or bad animation? And why?

>> No.4728548

Its okay. Most of it is clear and I can tell whats going on. The tentacles and robot being stripped apart was really cool. The hand scene was too choppy. The part at the end with the robot parts ejecting the jet needed more easing.

so it looks nice. it's flashy. all that stuff. But as an animation, it looks stiff and very claustrophobic. there really aren't any establishing shots. I'd compare this to a fight scene in Alien vs Predator. Everything is 2 inches away from the camera. It feels very rigid too.

It's visual novel animation. It's actually rare for them to get animation at all, usually they're just 100% static character CGs against static backgrounds (see pic).

Muv-Luv Alternative is one of the biggest, most ambitious VNs ever made, and they managed to get Yoshinari Kou (who's a legendary animator in the anime industry) to do some of the cutscenes and parts of the OPs.

awkward overanimated stilted bullshit. everything he makes is the animated equivalent of grasping jello with chopsticks.

>> No.4732548

>>4727839
Pros:
-good amount of detail
-some bits and pieces of dramatic action like the sepuku sword having bits and pieces of viscera sliding along the blade
Cons:
-looks like rotoscoped action figures most of the time
-a LOT of repeating animation
-a lot of nothing happening
-no dramatic narrative shown therefore no reason to care
-very muddy(could be the video quality itself, maybe the original looked better)
-the action choreography is bland as shit

Because it was charging up. Purple was basically acting as a decoy.

There's a lot more to it, but not worth explaining. You either play the VN or you don't.

Because the shots aren't shown back-to-back like that in the game. They're spread out over half an hour or so.
