>Patreon bans Owen Benjamin for "wrongthink"
>72 of Benjamin's backers tell Patreon they will move for arbitration.
>Patreon amended its TOS to bar those claims.
>Backers move for arbitration.
>Patreon loses procedural rules in arbitration.
>Lawsuit against those backers is filed.
>"The arbitration claims will be substantial," Patreon's lawyer says in claiming that Patreon will suffer irreparable harm.

Thoughts? What do you guys think this will do for artists who are constantly banned for posting inappropriate images. Seems like things are shifting against those that hate freedom of expression.

In what way is this an "outrage thread"
Wouldn't you be happy that bigtech are getting their comeuppance? Go back to your /beg/ thread.

Except they literally can't. It's the "I want my cake and eat it too" mentality. Imagine being the fucktard that defends censorship.

The person isn't an artist. However he has successfully made Patreon liable. Patreon will have to think long and hard before it wants to risk banning any artist for posting "inappropriate" images.

>> No.4721840

Lmao, patreon can suck a dick. Last time I've read about it, they banned an artist for drawing a Hexmaniac with massive tits. They insisted she was underage.
Meanwhile, Sakimichan make thousands by drawing "adult versions" of popular anime characters, and bar from some idiots on twitter bitching about it, patreon never did shit.

Yeah, companies can do whatever they want, until they do something you don't like, then you send bomb threats to the company because you don't like company anymore.
We've seen your stupid argument on twitter a million times, asshole.

Tl;dr, creators and backers have a economic/business relationship and Patreon fucked with this relationship by changing rules after this relationship was formed, etc, etc, also shitty TOS from their part
Patreon can be forced to pay up to 10K per backer that seeks arbitration, so depending on what happens they are massively fucked. 300 backers from a creator could mean 3 million cash they would have to pay in fees.
