It's normal to not be impressed by japanese art?

Like every fucking anime drawing has some begginer mistake, poor composition, bad use or color temperature, generic posture, begginer anatomic mistakes, no use of perspective, generic sameface syndrome, no interesting dynamic camera angle, emotionless expressions.

It's all overpolished begginer shit.

Even artists like Miura are just mediocre draftmen compared to the russian and european tradition.

Much of it is overrated, but if you're a comic artist there's a lot to learn from the storytelling in manga. While western comics tend to be unnecessarily wordy and badly paced, manga is typically better paced, communicative, atmospheric, and takes it time (like a good lover).

It's true but the rest of the world is fucking shit. I end up coming here because the trash that gets posted here is at least motivated by something human, although it's mostly degeneracy.
What I see outside of here is straight up designed to get likes and the people involved are entirely concerned about getting popular. At least some of the people here like drawing what they draw because they actually like it. This is ironically the same reason why everyone's so angry and cynical and depressed. The people who are driven by the market and set themselves on the right path to get anywhere have no use for this place outside dropping a link to their porn account.
Maybe the people here are just as trash as everyone else but at least I don't have to deal with that side of them. I'd rather fight with a retarded degenerate I hate than deal for a second with a sociopath who can only think of me in terms of how many followers he can get from me or if he can gain something from interacting with me while posting carefully arranged #sketch pictures where he/she pretends he's touching the canvas because that looks more "engaging¨
