How do I break out of this?
>practices daily
>never finishes a work
>when work is finished, it looks far less soulful or correct than sketches
>occasionally decent finished work started out as a sketch
>when he paints, he never refines and fully renders it to completion
>has some level of technical skill, not enough to truly post boldly and freely
>sees artists that have been drawing for less time push out fully finished pieces that look better on social media
>always feels like he’s “just” on the verge of being good enough to post, decides not to and spends another month sketching and grinding fundies

Has anyone successfully broken out of this shit?

Being good at sketching is half the battle.
Getting to a finished piece is just cleaning up your sketch a bit and rendering it, which you can do in a very formulaic way if you read "how to render" by scott robertson.

Thank you anon. Aside from the finishing part, I think part of it is just a mental block. I think I'll try easing my way in by posting coom shit and fanart to Reddit since that site's demographic is retarded, and I'll keep grinding fundies all the while I get better at finishing my stuff
