like many art youtubers I think he focuses more on personality and brand than say, artistic integrity; I'd put him opposite of the spectrum of someone more mellow such as James Gurney. He says a lot of absolutes that could be funny or a refresher if you know something about art but potentially harmful if you're a beginner. Would not treat as a serious art resource to study.

I'm sure he's a fine person and a fine worker when not in his weird satirical persona, but the basis of his videos being on the refusal of outright stating advice in lieu of making ironic statements and "pretending" he's angry/upset at an idea or artist is close to insufferable. It's like he's directly catering to zoomers who hate showing genuine feelings about their opinions and art and instead speak in memes and ironic, indifferent statements because being serious is makes you seem like a tryhard or something. i dont think he"s masquerading the fact that he's just a cartoonist. not a very good one tho.

hes only got a single point on its videos thats "focus on whats important. perception and design trumps reality". its the same message that Vilppu says on his courses but for a younger audience focused on working on steven universe or whatever. hes not great but not terrible, and his videos can be funny and motivating for begginers.
